Dos Mujeres Mexican Folk Art

Amate paper spirit figure, the God of Coffee. The paper is hand made from the bark of the Jonote tree. The figure, also made of the same hand made paper is overlayed when wet to meld with the background paper. These figures are ancient designs, used by shamans to bring good spirits and good luck to the village where they are made. Each one is hand made and the figures hand cut. Slight variations are to be expected. Size: About 15 x 23"
