Please wait...Years ago, before plastic toys and action figures, before Chinese imports, before toys were sold in stores, the tin makers of Celaya in particular made cars, trucks, spinning toys, push toys and candle powered boats out of tin. This model of boat is the original model boat. These boats come in various colors - we'll choose for you. Feel free to make color suggestions in the checkout if you have a preference - no guarantees but we'll send the color you want if we still have it!

Tin Artisan José Luz made just a few of these collectibles for us in three traditional folk art themes - the Virgin of Guadalupe, Dia de Los Muertos, and Valentines day, the corazon.
To run this boat you must have tiny candles (you can cut them from tapered candles) You fill the tubes at the port end of the boat with water, then place the lit candle up under the bow and place it in a body of water. After a few seconds it will putt putt around in a circle - or straight if you move the rudder to the straight out position. Instruction video to come. Watch video below where you'll see the artist fill the tubes with water, light the candle and send the boat off on a voyage. An eyedropper works great for filling the tubes.
